The police have arrested six key suspects who are under custody at Kerugoya police station. The six are linked to the heinous act which led to the of murdering a university student on June 10, 2022.

Collins Kipchumba ,21 year old Kirinyaga University Engineering student was killed in cold  blood. He was hit to death with a blunt object while going back to his hostel on Thursday evening. The young student lost consciousness upon the attack and died a day later while receiving treatment at a hospital.

This did not go well with Kirinyaga University students who clashed with the police as they staged to protests as one of them was murdered by criminals.

According to The Kirinyaga County Commissioner Moses Lvuto, the three suspects were arrested in different locations. Two of them were found in Mwea kirinyag county and the other four in Murang’a. He also gave credit to the cooperation between police officers and the public.

However, more information on the background of the suspects was disclosed as he claimed that this might end up compromising the investigations. The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court as soon as possible.
