Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life Prayer Centre and Church s under probe by DCI over the alleged brainwashing of members.

His arrest comes after the Shakahola incident, where bodies were recovered ,following Pastor Mackenzie’s arrest.

DCI are investigating the mysterious deaths associated with Mackenzie’s Cult Massacre on Tuesday April 25, questioned Pastor Ezekiel’s over his doctrine and church operations.

The operation led by Kilifi DCIO , saw Pastor Ezekiel record a statement over his involvement to Pastor Paul Mackenzie.

The DCI detectives also inspected the Milele Funeral Home in Mavueni, Kilifi County a morgue located near Pastor Ezekiel’s church and questioned the morgue management regarding cultic operations.

Exhumation

While inspecting the exhumation operation at Shakahola, Interior CS  Kithure Kindiki said that the National Police Service is investigating flamboyant pastors whose teachings appear to go against the law.

“Any faith that kills peoples or engages in criminal activities in the name of religion must be stopped and this is the time to stop it,” said the CS.

This comes after Nyeri Archdiocese Catholic Archbishop Anthony Muheria on Wednesday called for the financial  audit of church leaders a way to eliminate cultic worship in the society.

“It is important that we audit the wealth of all religious leaders , all of us including myself should be able to declare what I have in my account,’ he said.

The Archbishop is accusing cult leaders of taking advantage of the poor in the society, termed the deception shown by a section of religious leaders as corruption of the highest order

“We insist that there must be laws to tame sham religions, denominations and gatherings, they’re human creations of a person who wants to deceive,” he added.

“We must be bold , this is not  a question of doing a simple sanitization. We’ve seen this is deep, it is evil ,and should not be repeated.
