The Challenges

Her case comes to illuminate the challenges that deputy governor’s face while in office due to the lack of clearly stipulate roles in the constitution. they have been left at the mercy of the county bosses who at times mistreat them.

Ms Karugu argues that there is deliberate sidelining of her office in order to portray her as ineffective and nonperforming. Her personal assistant was also stopped from performing his duties and his contract not renewed by the county a move she describes as unconstitutional.

She also alleges that she was relieved of her duties in a manner that was unfair and illegal and for which she is demanding justice.
