Long distance relationship couples can now send their kisses as a new device with warm, moving silicon’lips’ has hit the market.
The device advertised has a way to let the couples share a ‘real’ physical intimancy, is causing a social media uproar within chinese social media users.
It is equipped with pressure sensors and actuators, the device is said to be able to mimic a real kissby replicating the pressure movement and temprature of the user’s lip.
The device can also transmit the sounds the users makes.
How does the device work?
To send a kiss, users need to download a mobile phone app and plug the device into their phones charging port. After pairing with their partners in the app, couples can start a video call and transmit replicas of their kisses to each other.
According to china’s state-run Global Times, the invention has been patented by the ChangzhouVocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology.
“In my university,I was in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend so we only had contact with each other through the phone. That’s where the inspiration of this device originated.’Jiang Zhongli, the leading inventor of the design was cited saying by the Global Times.
Jiang applied for a patent in 2019 , but the patent ended in January 2023, and the inventor hopes someone else could expand on and perfect the design.
The device also enables users to pair up anonymously with strangers in the ‘Kissing Square” function of the app.If two strangers match successfullyand like each other they can also exchange kisses.
However, while social media users so the device funny, others found fault with it, voicing concers that minors could buy it and use it.
Users can also upload their ‘smoochers’ in the app for other to download and experience.
