DCI detectives are investigating the death of Elizabeth Githingi, a preacher who was found dead at the home of gospel Singer Mirugi Dishon.
Mirugi’s ex, Elizabeth, paid him a visit at his home in Kahawa West on Saturday, according to a police statement.
Mirugi told the officers that she had broght back his suit from Nakuru but when she arrived at his house, she decided to clean up the place.
He said that while she was cleaning, he left the house to run errands on Thika Road.
However, when Mirugi returned home, because he could not reach Elizabeth on her phone, he found her in his wardrobe appearing to have hung herself with a bedsheet.
He claims that he untied the body and transferred it to his car before driving to the Jacaranda Maternity Home.
According to the police statement, Jacaranda Medics refused to pick up Elizabeth’s body because she was already dead.
He then drove to Kiambu Police Station with the body still in his car, but officers told him to report the matter to Kahawa West.
Officers at Kahawa police station also refused to pick the body and instead told him to report the matter to Kasarani police station.
However nothing was different when he arrived at the station, the officers refused to pick the body explaining to him that he should have reported the discovery immediately.
After a long day of shuffling between police stations, he was told to take the body to the Kenyatta University Mortuary on Saturday evening .
The musician Mr.Mirugi later returned to Kasarani police station on Sunday to record a statement about the incident, accompanied by DCI homicide detectives.
