Mukumu Girls “to destroy 800 Bags Of Contaminated Cereals”

800 bags of contaminated cereals from Mukumu girls in Kakamega county are set to be destroyed on Friday , May5, 2023, as ordered by the Education CS.

It will cost the country Ksh.878,000 to transport the goods to the bamburiCement Plant in Mombasa County.

The goods of maize, beans, rice was flagged off from the school by the county boss Fernandez Barasa who was accompanied by other politicians.

The county boss says the exercise will be witnessed by security officers, parents, teachers from the institution as well as NEMA officials for accountability.

“For accountability purposes, the commissioner here and i want to assure the public that the foods that were contaminated are now going to be destroyed professionally and in compliance with NEMA procedures,”Barasa said.

Even though the nature of contamination is yet to be revealed, the school is set to reopen next week.
