The MTV EMA’S Awards are awards where music celebrities pack the night, dressed in amazing costumes, wowing their fans.
This year, the MTV awards were hosted by Rita Ora and Taika Waititi.
Eyes shone on Taylor Swift this year as she got to take home four awards: Best Artist, Best Video, Best Pop and Best Long Form Video.
Though many musicians had been nominated, including Ed Sheeran, Adele and Harry Styles , who were leading the nominations , Taylor Swift proved to be the queen of the night and of the MTV EMA award.
Taylor Swift
The 32-year-old musician surprised many of her fans by making unannounced appearance at the awards shows to accept her honors in person.
Taylor swift , left her fans in a trance, she arrived in a dress featuring a low cut , black bodysuit with a bejeweled , netted skirt, she also left her fans shocked as she appeared dressed in a bedazzled mini dress with a polar collar when she was receiving her best artist award.
“You have no idea how much this means to me to do this as a career. So I just wanted to say personally , from me to you. The fact you have done what you have done , supporting the album , being excited and loving it… there’s not a singe moment I take that for granted. I love you so much . Its all because of you . Thank you so so much.”
The annual music awards, which took place in Dusseldorf Germany, was hosted by Rita Ora and Taika Waititi , also show stars including Nicki Minaj , Muse and Gorillaz who also took home gongs from 20 gender- neutral categories.
Performing Act
During the night, many celebrities performed: Stormzy performed his ballad Fire Babe on TV, live music from Lewis Capaldi and Bebe Rexha.
British Tik-Tok star and Eurovision runner up , Sam Ryder also brought glam into the night , presenting the awards for best collaboration to French Dj David Guetta and U.S star Bebe Rexha.
As the night continued , swift kept on winning , she accepted the longform video awards.
As she took the stage, she praised her fans for their continued support saying,” you’re the reason that anything has ever happened to me.”
“I have been writing and directing my music videos for a long time but this was the first short film. I have made and I felt I have learnt so much about myself on how making film can be a natural extension of my story telling just like song writing.”
Furthermore, she was awarded best video and also the best pop prize swift joked; ” you got to wear a lot of sequins and learn choreography and that is very hard.”
Swift has been dominating the music charts across the world in recent weeks following the release of her new album midnights.
Awarded Celebrities
Other musicians who came to the award show were ; Nicki Minaj, who took home the award for best song with super freaky girl along with the best hip-hop act.
Harry Styles, the ex one direction member , even though he had 7 nominations ,only took home one award best live performance.
Best Rock Award went to Muse, who opened the ceremony with their new track Will Of The People. sam smith tool video for good.
Lastly, Burna Boy, the African giant took home the award for Best African Act.
