Two medical officers testified against , Migori Governor Okoth Obado, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and former Migori County clerk Caspal Obiero.
One of the clinical officer know as cliff Momanyi attested that he was given ksh 1,500 to fake medical results on behalf of Micheal Oyama ,which stated that he was attacked and badly injured by unknown people ,on the night of sharon’s murder.
A second witness also a medical officer narrated to the court on how Caspal and Micheal had approached him and requested him to write a medical report, indicating that Micheal was receiving treatment in a hospital in Kisumu .This was the day after sharon’s murder.
Kenyan governor Okoth Obado has been charged in court with aiding in the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend, a pregnant student.The married governor pleaded not guilty to the charge.Mr Obado’s arrest followed weeks of public anger after the body of Sharon Otieno, Rongo University student, 26, was found in a forest.
“Sharon and her unborn baby lost their lives in a gruesome and horrifying manner in the hands of her killers. My office is therefore committed to ensuring that all the perpetrators of the heinous act are brought to book and subjected to the due process of the law,” Mr Haji said.
A post-mortem revealed she had possibly been raped, and stabbed eight times in the neck, abdomen and back. She lost her unborn child during the attack on September 3, 2018.The hearing is still ongoing.
