In Tegeyat village, Nandi County, a 19-year old man has been caught for stealing women’s undergarment.
This is after the mysterious disappearance of female inner garments was reported in the area.
Women in the county have reported the disappearance of their inner wears from the hanging lines, which they launched a searching exercise from one house to another.
Their search bore fruit, as on Monday, a man was found with the female undergarments in his house.
According to the village elder Kiptanui Ronoh the suspect was caught with 20 undergarments and other type of clothes wrapped in bags.
The suspect, Joel Kimurgor, admitted to have stolen the women’s under wears from different houses in the village so as to please his girlfriend who had requested him to buy new garments for her as a way of showing love.
A resident of the village has condemned the incident saying it was an abomination in Kalenjin community to steal undergarment, adding that it was commonly practiced by with doctors and sorcerers.
