M-Pesa Fraudsters Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Ksh.297K

Two wanted M-pesa fraudsters who had been on the run for allegedly stealing Ksh.297,00 have been arrested in Kisumu.

The suspects, Omar Ahmed and Saleh Omar, were captured during a string operation Thursday night in Kaloleni Estate.

DCI officers from Kondele police station had been on their pursuit since taking off from Mombasa where they committed the crime on New Year’s eve.

Kisumu County Commissioner, Josephine Ouko who confirmed the incident says that the duo had snatched a bag containing a phone from a member of the member.

She says the duo then went ahead and withdrew the money from the Mpesa Account and then came to hide in Kisumu were they were nabbed at night by the police.

The commissioner says the duo is been held at the Kondele police station and will be transferred to Mombasa to face robbery with charges.
