Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohamed has resigned from the cabinet to contest the Mandera Gubernatorial seat. The CS disclosed that he is very grateful to the president for giving him the chance to serve in his government.
Mohamed is among the senior cabinet secretaries who were appointed in 2013 by the president. He has served in the cabinet for almost ten years. CS Adan Mohamed was first appointed as the CS for industrialisation back in 2013 and was perceived to be the required CS to make Kenya an industrial hub.
He is said to have improved Kenya’s rank in the ease of doing business to double digits. This made Kenya attractive to foreign Investors. The Aspirant for Mandera Governor’s position was latter moved to the East African Community where he has been serving.
His resignation comes barely hours after his colleagues resigned from their position. The CS joins Charles Keter of Devolution and John Munyes of Petroleum and mining who resigned today. Senior Government officials who are eyeing elective seats have until February 9th to resign from their positions.

His resignation will have a great impact in the cabinet as he was one of the most senior members in the cabinet. The CS resignation comes as a surprise as the media had not anticipated his resignation.
