Karungo wa Thang’wa in trouble after his nomination clearance stopped

UDA senatorial Aspirant for Kiambu County Karungo wa Thang'wa. He nomination clearance process has been stopped by the High court after a petition was filed.

Kiambu UDA senatorial Aspirant is now a worried man after the high court barred the IEBC from processing his nomination. The petition has been filed by a voter , Kelvin Njui Wangari.

Justice Anthony Mrima has referred the matter to a three bench judge which set to be appoint by the chief justice. The bench is also expected to hear and determine a case against former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

The Case against Karungo has been raised on the grounds that he was impeached by the Kiambu County Assembly. The former Ngewa Ward MCA was impeached in 2019 by the kiambu county assembly on allegations of gross misconduct.

The Former MCA had been appointed by Former Governor Ferdinand Waititu,to serve as a County Executive Committee member in-charge of Youth Affairs and sports.

Mr Thang’wa is considered to be the front runner in the Kiambu senatorial race after bagging the UDA party Nomination ticket. From now it is a wait and see  scenario on which way the ruling will go.
