Infotrak has given reasons behind the pulling down of a poll they posted on their official twitter account.

After the debate had come to an end infotrak posed a question ;’Who is your preferred running mate?”

Over 30,000 twitter users had voted awarding Gachagua a 32% lead over Karua. He had 61.9% followed by Azimio deputy presidential candidate Martha Karua at 29.1%.Justina Wamae had from roots party had 8.4% while Ruth Mucheru of the Agano party trailed at 4.0%.

In their defence infotrak’s CEO Angela Ambito said that they realised some of the accounts voting were  not authentic.

”When we did this twitter poll we realised there were bots and we decided to pull it down . A twitter poll is not scientific but it can give a gauge of what Twitter uses think. We will be running another poll today and unlike the Twitter one which was compromised this poll will be scientific. So we will select participants randomly and we don’t  risk a case where one person voters more than one ,”She said.

Twitter authenticity of various accounts has been questioned .High twitter accounts were being hired out and used to attack judges ,journalists and members of civil society
