Boniface Mutua , was arrested and arraigned in court after found in possession of three rolls of Marijuana worth ksh 90.A resident at Bahati estate in Ainabkoi sub-county has admitted to the court that he is guilty to the offence.
In his defence Boniface said that he smokes bhang in order to gain courage and voluntarily campaign for The roots party presidential candidate Wajackoya. sinvce he promised to legalise Marijuana if he assumes office.
“For now, I smoke bhang to gain courage and voluntarily campaign for Wajackoyah, who has promised to legalise bhang. Who knows, I might be among the commercial farmers of bhang if my candidate is elected President and legalises marijuana,” Boniface said during a court session.

The 47 year old man has been warmed by the court over the use of bhang ,if not for medicinal purposes , which is still illegal in kenya .The magistrate took time to explain to the suspect that it was illegal, at the moment, to smoke or possess bhang in Kenya
“You will be sentenced after your own plea of guilty since for now, it is illegal to trade and use bhang without a prescription from a doctor…For now bhang is illegal and therefore you are sentenced for the offence,” the Senior Resident Magistrate decreed.
