Gakuyo sacked and dumped by Governor Nyoro over hateful sentiments

Ekeza Chairman Bishop David Ngari Gakuyo during a past church service at Calvary Chosen Centre Thika.HE Has been sacked by Governor Nyoro over hateful remarks against women leadership in the county.

Thika Town Parliamentary aspirant and special adviser to the governor of Kiambu Gakuyo  has been fired according to sources close to the governor. This comes after Gakuyo was recorded as saying words and statements that were considered as hateful, incitement and unprintable during a past event held by the governor.

Gakuyo has been the special adviser to  governor Nyoro since he took office after the impeachment of his predecessor. At the time of making those Hateful remarks Gakuyo was in the presence of the governor who was launching a new fire engine that was set to benefit the people of Thika town constituency.

Political History

Both Nyoro and Gakuyo have a long history in politics as they were part of the famous United for Kiambu forum that won the gubernatorial election against William Kabogo in 2017. The team was later betrayed by their Governor .Governor Waititu  was later impeached. Political pundits linked the impeachment of Waititu to the United for Kiambu team.

Nyoro while speaking to https://www.iconnews.co.ke indicated that he has started procedures of reliving Gakuyo from his duties in the county. He went on to indicate that he offered the renowned Bishop a job at the county in order to facility Gakuyo in payment of debts he owed to people.

Ekeza Sacco Scandal 

Gakuyo has been repaying Ekeza Sacco members their savings which were lost in a scandal that locked the Cooperative sector in Kenya. In part the governor indicated that he his reached out to his former right hand man in an aim to have him apologise to women in the county and country at large for the comments he made at the Governor’s Event.

United for Kiambu Team role in Waititu’s troubles

It is still unclear whether Gakuyo has issued an apology over the same. the hateful remarks although didn’t mention anyone in Name seem to have been directed at Alice Ng’ang’a who is competing with the fire band Bishop for the Thika Parliamentary  seat. Alice was the Mp for Thika Town from 2013 to 2017 and has indicated her intention to vie for the position once again.

In his statement Nyoro has indicated that he needs the support of all voters in the county as he seeks fresh mandate to serve them as the governor for another term. He said that he doesn’t support Gakuyo for the Thika Town Parliamentary seat.
