Ferdinand Omanyala will finally travel to Eugene

Ferdinand Omanyala Omurwa is a Kenyan sprinter who specialises in the 100m and 200m events ,will finally participate in the Worlds Athletic Championship in Eugene ,United States of America.

The Kenyan sprinter was included in the entry list for the 100m event at the championships that begun on Friday ,which he almost missed due to visa delay.

“Sadly, I won’t be participating in this year’s world championships in Oregon. I did not get my visa in time for travel,” Omanyala’s spokesperson had earlier stated.

Omanyala finally got hold of his visa Thursday morning and Athletics Kenya (AK) got him onto the fastest flight route to the United States.According to the officials he will arrive two hours and a half before his race.

He is currently the African record holder and 8th fastest man of all-time in the 100 metres after clocking a time of 9.77 on 18 September 2021 in Nairobi
