Post by : Sue Njihia

Cabinet secretary of education ,George Magoha is not pleased with KU’s reaction to the building of WHO’s logistics hub on the schools 200 acre land.

The Kenyatta University Vice chancellor professor Paul Wainaina had greatly opposed the decision as he argues that the land was given to World Health Organisation(WHO) to build a logistics hub without the schools consent. This createt a great furore between him and the president.

“The government can decide that the site of this school is good for a nuclear facility. Once it passes through the cabinet, who do you think you are not to follow? It does not belong to you. All lands belongs to the government,” The CS said.

UNIVERSITY MERGERS IS IMMINENT AND NECESSARY-MUTUA

This comes after the president heightenly spoke his mind during the groundbreaking ceremony of  where the research hub will be established.

“Alafu unaenda huko kusema hii shamba ni yako… shamba yako kutoka wapi? Hii ni shamba ya wakenya. Lakini bado nimebaki wiki tatu… we shall deal with those people swiftly and very effectively. Tutaenda nyumbani na wao. We can’t have people operating as individuals.”Uhuru Kenyatta said.

The hub will facilitate pandemic preparedness for local supply of what might be needed in an emergency since the facility will also double as local manufacturing support to address supply chain challenges witnessed at the onset of COVID-19.
