CS Kuria Swears a “Swift Revenge” After Matatu Is Torched

Post by : Hillary Musyoki

Investment Trade and Industry CS Moses Kuria has vowed a swift revenge following the destruction of public property witnessed on Tuesday’s protests as they kicked off.

Kuria was addressing the matter where a Public Service Vehicle was torched by goons along Ngong road.

He has stated this will be the last time such an incident will be witnessed.

“Revenge will be swift and in corresponding measure. This will be the last. I solemnly promise,” CS Kuria tweeted.

During the incident, police were forced to lob teargas to crowds in order to disperse them.

According to locals, the goons who set ablaze the PSV are suspected to have travelled from other places before the attack.

They said they arrived in small groups before throwing petrol bombs they had onto the bus. The driver of the bus was unable to turn and escape.

In the midst of the protests, a trailer was also torched along the Lang’ata bypass adjacent to the Migingo slum in Lang’ata, Nairobi. The truck was headed to Uganda.

The two incidents raised eyebrows with netizens questioning the culprits behind the attacks.

Some say the goons were protestors, others remain determined the two incidents were staged.
