Renowned Bishop and former Member of parliament for Starehe Bishop Margaret Wanjiru has dared Sakaja to meet her in the nominations. Wanjiru who is famously known for being very vocal about issues that concern her has been on the campaign trail for the last one year.

The bishop has been campaign since the governor’s seat in Nairobi fell vacant after the impeachment of Sonko. She immediately Joined UDA and started her campaigns. However as she claims the “deep state” had other plans as they moved to have Current Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu sworn in as the Deputy Governor and acting Governor.

Bishop Wanjiru has been a strong contender in the city’s politics having battled it out with Kamanda for the Starehe position. Sonko for the gubernatorial position among other elective seats. Currently the flamboyant preacher is going to the top gun.

During a recent address to the press, Bishop Wanjiru indicated that she welcomes the pact between UDA and ANC. She also put the Senator on notice that she is ready to face him in primaries as she fears no one. Wanjiru declared that since she announced about vying for the seat she was the first and she will go up to the ballot.

Both politicians will face off of with Richard Ngatia and Tim Wanyonyi of Azimio la Umoja. Current Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu,Prominent Businesswoman  Agnes Kagure. there are  others who haven’t openly declared but are seen as interested.

The Nairobi Governor’s seat will become a battle after Prominent city  lawyer and azimio die hard Donald Kipkorir proposed Murang’a Women Representative for the position.
