‘Break In’ Police Post In Homa Bay County

Homa Bay County, security officials are on high alert after four guns and 110 round of ammunitions’ was reportedly stolen from Kipasi Police Post in Lambwe ward ,Mbita subcounty by unknown people who broke into the police post.

The incident happened on Wednesday night, the weapons stolen including the ammunitions’ were, an AK47 and 3G3 rifles.

According to the police the thieves broke into the amour room through the window and stole the said weapons.

It is still not clear how the break in happened into the police post but at time they broke in the officers on duty were  not in when the night raid happened.

Police commander, Samson Kinne said they have intensified their operation and security to recover the guns and arrest the suspects as soon as possible. Adding that the incident has caused growing tension in the area.

The commander has called on members of the public to co-operate with the security officers in tracing the weapons as they are in wrong hands and therefore a threat to their lives.

The DCI, National Government and regular police are on site to ensure the stolen guns are recovered.

The area faces increasing cases of attacks by gunmen who raid cattle’s.
