ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has declared that he funds his own presidential campaigns in the past and that he is intending to do so even in the future.
However the the former vice president and leader of ANC said that his party members chip in from time to time to help him achieve his dreams of becoming the 5th president of Kenya.
We can now understand why ANC and its former coalition partners in NASA coalition were fighting the ODM party for a share of the funds given to them by the government.
The ANC party leader said that Ksh 4 billion is way to expensive and high for a presidential election. He downplayed the IEBC’s set maximum campaign finance that a presidential candidate can spend in the 2022 general election.
Elections in Kenya are very expensive and this should not be the case, the leader was quoted saying during a past interview with a popular TV station in the country.
With elections in Kenya being a rich man’s business, Mudavadi seems to agree that, that should not be the case and every Kenyan should have a chance to vie for any political seat in the country but whether this can be achieved is very hard to say.
