A six- storey building has collapsed in Ruaka , near club fortune at 3:30 am , Thursday morning.

The building collapsed over a neighboring residential home where the tenants were asleep.

Two people have been confirmed dead, while one has been rescued after the building collapsed early morning.

The two confirmed are a couple , who died when the building crashed their residential home.

The news was confirmed by Fredrick Kamau , the son of the deceased.

Fredrick said the owner of the building disregarded advice to stop construction.

Another nearby building was also damaged but did not collapse. All those who occupied the building were rescued.

Rescue efforts by Kiambu government , fire and disaster management unit and St. Johns Ambulance are still underway.

The Governor of Kiambu Kimani Wamtangi, visited the scene but promised to release a statement later on.

This is the second building to collapse after another one collapsed in Kasarani neighborhood claiming 3 lives.

The building collapsing, are more than four storeys  high, questions are why are they collapsing, is it poor management on them or negligence of the construction workers and supervisors?
