Nigerian nationals were lucky to escape  an angry mob after suspecting them of witchcraft.

The incident that occurred on Sunday, February 26,2023, the foreigners were conducting prayers in Kangokii area within Makongeni area, Thika  when the locals thought they were conducting rituals attacked them.

The angry mob gave the foreigners a thorough beating as they called on other members of the public to assist in lynching them.

Police Officers who were present at the time rescued the Nigerians and took them to a nearby hospital

The victims sustained serious injuries.

When questioned , the Nigerians refused the claims made by the locals and insisted that they were conducting prayers.

Cases of mob attacks over witchcrafts have been on the rise.
