Young Children should be not be working but should enjoy their childhood having fun growing up.

The US Department of labour revealed that they discovered two 10-year old’s working at Louisville McDonals’s restaurant sometimes until 2A.M.

This was discovered during an investigation into the child labour law violations in the Southeast. The department also found three permits that own more than 60 McDonald restaurants in Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland and Ohio, “Employed 305 children to work more than the permitted hours and perform tasks prohibited by law for young workers,’ the labour department stated.

“Investigators from the department’s wage and Hour division found two 10-year-old workers at a Louisville McDonalds restaurant among many violations of federal labor laws committed by three Kentucky McDonalds franchise operators.”

“Investigators also determined the two 10-year old children were employed, but not paid and sometimes worked as late as 2A.M.

McDonald’s Response

Tiffanie Boyd, the senior vice president and chief people officer at McDonalds, Told CNN “These reports are unacceptable, deeply troubling and run afoul of the high expectations ,we have for the entire McDonald’s brand, we are committed to ensuring our our franchisees have the resources they need to foster safe workplaces for all employees and maintain compliance will all labour laws.”

Franchise Bauer Foods LLC revealed that the alleged employed children belonged to a night manager. They were visiting their parent at work and were not approved by franchise organization management to be in that part of the restaurant.

It was revealed that the three franchisees face a combined $212,754 civil money penalties for the child labour violations.
